What awakens and heals you is looking at yourself as you are now when you are feeling angry, when you are feeling unhappy, when you are feeling frustrated, restless, helpless or hopeless and you look at this feeling inside you and you allow it and you accept it and you say it’s OK and a shift starts to happen. It’s so simple and so beautiful!

Right direction

Are you doing your best? Well then, are you doing what you can? Maybe that’s a better way to ask the question. You might not be anywhere near your best at this particular time in your life, but you still have a ”best-you-can” that is your best today. Are you doing what you can? Usually if you do what little you can, you get credit. Every little bit helps.

Every positive intention, every step in the right direction, even if it is just turning around and facing the right direction, helps. And when I say the right direction I mean the direction you want to go in, whatever that may be. Wherever we are I love the fact that right here in this moment we can choose to take a step in the direction of our dreams, by doing what we can.

Overeating

If you are dealing with food addictions or compulsive overeating, here are three steps to make a switch in your habits…

Step 1 – Know when you are getting ready to bury your emotions with food. Be able to recognize the signs and observe yourself as you go through the process of pre-meditating a binge.

Step 2 – Ask yourself: ”Would I rather bury these emotions with food or would I rather allow these emotions to exist and just be with them for a bit?”

Step 3 – If you say you’d rather face your emotions, sit with them for a while and see what they have to tell you. Chances are, after listening to them for a few minutes, your addictive craving will pass.

OR if you do decide you’d rather have the food, accept your decision. Don’t beat yourself up about it. Know that each time you have the cravings you can repeat this 123 process until you are ready to look at the emotions, and then you’ll begin to make a habit of choosing to look at your feelings instead of choosing to stuff them down.

Heart of gratitude

As you know, happiness is one of the three keys to health! And cultivating the heart of gratitude is one of the most amazing things you can do to achieve long-lasting, consistent happiness! Gratitude can easily become a habit, like anything else, and it is one of the best habits you could wish for! When you feel grateful, it is like an inner massage, just causing every cell in your body to become alight with a vibrant and alive energy. This is more powerful and instant – and cheaper – than a supplement! It is absolute magic. Here’s one way to get started right now!

Gratitude Challenge: Can you cultivate living in gratitude today? Can you feel gratitude for each dish you wash, each email you answer, each person you speak with, each bite of food you eat, each thought and emotion you have, each moment of this day?

Change your energy

Happiness changes your energy, improves your immune system, brings more oxygen to your cells, balances your hormones, improves your ability to handle stress, etc…And that’s just physical! Spiritually the benefits are that you want to be alive and you are enjoying being alive, so therefore you will naturally take care of yourself! It will be automatic! When you choose to be happy as a way of being, you won’t be able to help taking care of yourself!

Commitment to health

Know that making a commitment to your happiness, to your health, to your fitness, to your family, to your abundance, to your career, to your mission in life, to your love, to your friends, to your community, to your creativity, to your spiritual life, is all the same thing. It is all a commitment to growth, to wholeness, to being your best, to living life fully and gratefully starting from where you are right now!
